About the Guanacaste Region

Located on the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, the Guanacaste region is known for its spectacular weather year round. The region has two distinct seasons: the dry season, from December to July and the green season, from August to November. With over 300 days of sunshine each year it is truly a vacationer's paradise.

The province of Guanacaste was once an independent region focused on farming and its many seaports. Its unique culture was molded over centuries by a Spanish influence, invading pirates, and Mayan visitors who once traveled here, leaving behind their ancient calendar and wisdom.

There is a flavor of life here found nowhere else in Costa Rica and it resonates through the deep pride of the local people. In 1825, Guanacaste chose to become part of Costa Rica.

Today, the region is known worldwide for the protection of its wildlife and natural environment. However it is no longer just the echo-tourist who finds this area appealing. Increased air service reflects a growing trend in North American travelers who find the area a safe international destination. As a result, the Costa Rican government is creating a stronger infrastructure to support the growing tourists' needs. Now a new international airport in Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste, makes access to this area just that much more convenient.

Nature, surfing, sports fishing, beaches, first class golf can all be found in Guanacaste and now, with Reserva Conchal, luxury world class living compliment the natural splendors of the area.
